Type 1 Ambulances On Display at FRI 2017

July 24, 2017

We will be attending Fire-Rescue International July 27 – 29, 2017 in Charlotte, NC. Being held at the Charlotte Convention Center, the conference and exhibition is hosted by the International Association of Fire Chiefs – and better known in the industry as FRI. Ambulance dealers from our nationwide network will be joining our corporate sales team to staff Booth #1108. The booth will house three new Type 1 ambulance units, featuring a Liberty, Super Chief, and Express Plus model.

Fire-Rescue International is an annual event focused on delivering first-class senior-level leadership training to fire chiefs. Company officers, chief officers, and those aspiring to be in fire leadership positions will converge at the Charlotte Convention Center on July 26, 2017 when the conference kicks off. A mix of classroom education sessions, networking events, and an exhibit hall packed with the latest in fire industry products, services, and apparatus, FRI is a premier event for the Fire Industry.

“FRI is one of those shows that we always attend,” says our Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Chad Brown. “It’s a great opportunity for us to catch up with customers old and new, as well as see what’s trending in the Fire Industry and how we can enhance our fire specific offerings to better meet those departments’ needs. We’re planning a significant update to our Patriot model that we will debut in Q2 2018, and in preparation for those upcoming changes we’ll be using FRI 2017 to continue to learn more about what fire departments with EMS capabilities desire and demand in an all-in-one apparatus or ambulance model.”

We will have three Type 1 ambulance units on display in Booth #1108. The first is a Type I Liberty model from Charleston County. Built on a 2017 RAM D4500 4 door 4x2, the ambulance features a Liquid Spring suspension system, ZOLL EMS Road Safety System, Whelen Howler Siren & Speaker System, EZ 02 Lift, MediKool Dual Temperature unit, and EVS Hibac V2 with integrated child seat/attendant seat.

Also on display will be an Express Plus Type 1 ambulance from Greenville County EMS. The 2017 Ford F-450 Extended Cab provides the department plenty of space, and a Liquid Spring suspension system offers a smoother ride for patient and crew. Sierra Wireless oMG 532 delivers secure, wireless wide area networking for the vehicle. Tecniq LED strip lighting in the OSS compartments, a Knox MedVault 2 5520 series narcotics locker, and EVS swivel fold down seat with slide track on curbside are also featured on this unit.

Lastly, Booth #1108 will include a Braun Demo Super Chief Type 1 ambulance. Placed on a Freightliner M2 chassis, the demo unit includes Tecniq D21 lights on each side of the rear of the module and Tecniq D21 lights on the top of the side of the module for enhanced visibility. Inside, there are Tecniq LED strip lights in the ceiling. A Mobileye 630 collision avoidance system with vibration alert system is tied into the driver's seat. Always focused on ambulance safety, this will offer the driver real-time collision avoidance intelligence to help mitigate a potential accident.

To see any of these units on display, plan to visit us in Booth #1108 at FRI 2017. Exhibit hall hours are Thursday, July 27th from 5 pm to 7 pm, Friday, July 28th from 10 am to 5 pm, and Saturday, July 29th from 8:30 am to 1 pm. Chad Brown, Eric Wilcox, and Jarret Hammons will be in attendance from Braun Industries direct, as well as several knowledgeable representatives from our ambulance dealers Ten-8 Fire Equipment, Spartan Fire & Emergency Apparatus, and Emergency Equipment professionals.

Those that cannot attend the conference in person should follow us on Facebook. We will be hosting Facebook Live sessions from the show floor, allowing anyone to get a peek inside the Type 1 ambulance units on display. Check out our Facebook page for a schedule of Facebook Live session days and times.
