Every year, Braun Industries partners with NAEMT to sponsor several exciting events for the EMS Industry. This includes the popular EMT of the Year Award that is presented at EMS World. In addition, we are proud to support EMS On The Hill Day. This year, the event will be held on March 26th in Washington D.C. Chad Brown, Braun's Vice President of Sales & Marketing, will be in attendance.
EMS On The Hill Day encourages EMS professionals to gather together and speak with congressional leaders about the industry. The mission is to educate lawmakers about the emergency medical profession and the challenges EMTs and Paramedics face on a daily basis. The goal is to advance emergency medical services as a critical part of our national healthcare system.
Some of the highlights of the event include:
- A hill briefing session to learn what the House and Senate are currently working on, and to meet with members of state delegations (Tuesday, March 25th at 5:30pm), and
- Capitol Hill visits—scheduled appointments for attendees to talk with their lawmakers about the challenges of the EMS industry.
NAEMT assesses and oversees all federal initiatives that impact the EMS industry and determines if these bills should be supported by the association. Right now, they are actively supporting the following pending federal legislation:
- H.R. 809 – Field EMS Quality, Innovation, and Cost-Effectiveness Improvements Act
- H.R. 3979 and S. 1798 – Protecting Volunteer Firefighters and Emergency Responders Act
- H.R. 235 – Veteran Emergency Medical Technician Support Act
- H.R. 1791 – The Medical Preparedness Allowable Use Act
For more information on these acts, visit NAEMT’s Legislative Priorities page.
Registration for EMS On The Hill Day 2014 is now closed. However, you can still voice your opinions by calling or writing your state’s congressional leader, or supporting EMS advocacy through the NAEMT ENGAGE! Online Legislative Service.
As a custom ambulance manufacturer, Braun Industries is proud to support the NAEMT and their efforts with EMS On The Hill Day.
