Braun Ambulances and Ten-8 Fire Equipment, Inc. Present Donation to Florida Firefighters Safety and Health Collaborative

April 17, 2019

ffhsc donation blogEvery day, fire fighters and first responders put their lives on the line for their communities. What many people don’t realize is how each call can affect a firefighter’s physical or mental health for years to come. In partnership with local Braun dealer Ten-8 Fire Equipment, Inc., Braun Ambulances was proud to present a $5,000 check to the Florida Firefighters Safety and Health Collaborative at FDIC 2019 on April 12, 2019.

The Florida Firefighters Safety and Health Collaborative (FFSHC) is a free program for fire departments who are looking for a way to enhance and maintain safety in the workplace. Each quarter, firefighters, safety officers, chief officers, fire chiefs, and safety advocates meet from Northwest, Northeast, Central, Southwest, and Southeast Florida to discuss policies, procedures, and best practices as they apply to firefighter safety and health. The FFSHC focuses on a variety of topics, including firefighter cancer prevention, emotional and mental wellness, health and physical fitness, and safety on all emergency incidents.

Chad Brown, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Braun Ambulances, says, "We have an incredible network of dealers that we work with. Ten-8 is our dealer partner for Florida and Georgia. Cindy Morgan, Ten-8's VP of Ambulance and Equipment Sales, brought this great organization to our attention. Together, we were proud to present this donation to them at FDIC 2019. Safety is a key focus at Braun Industries and being able to support an organization like the Florida Firefighters Safety and Health Collaborative is another way for us to help keep Fire/EMS professionals better protected as they do their job. These guys go well beyond on-the-job safety to focus on emotional and mental wellness, and cancer prevention. They are doing wonderful work in Florida."

“Ten-8 Fire Equipment learned about FFSHC in 2017 at the Orlando Safety and Health Conference,” says Cindy Morgan, Vice President of Ambulance and Equipment Sales at Ten-8 Fire Equipment, Inc. “We knew immediately that this was an organization we wanted to support. Since then, we have worked with our partners to provide several donations. We have also sponsored meetings throughout the year and created an ongoing donation stream through the sales of a particulate barrier hood. It was a pleasure to work with Braun to facilitate this latest donation. We look forward to partnering with the Collaborative for many years to come and appreciate their dedication to fire fighter safety and wellness.”

Firefighters give so much for their communities, so it’s important to give back when we can. For more information on the Florida Firefighters Safety and Health Collaborative, visit their website.
