November 15th through 17th, Braun Industries held our Annual Service Instruction Course. Over 15 people attended the instructional course, including dealers as well as Braun customers that service their own ambulances. Those in attendance included representatives from: North Eastern Rescue Vehicles, Bulldog Fire Apparatus, the city of Terre Haute, IN, Troy Fire Department, Keystone Emergency Vehicles, Johnson Truck Center, LTG Fire and Emergency, Fletcher Allen, F.A.C.T., Nassau Fire Apparatus, and Rescue Repair.
The course included troubleshoot, repair, and application training by five of Braun's vendors: Weldon, Whelen, Kussmaul, Kelderman, and Hoseline. In addition, there were also in-plant training modules offered. These were the highlight of the course and included instruction by Braun plant and service associates with expertise in a particular area. These modules covered Heat/AC Systems, EZ Glide Door roller service, OSS door maintenance and adjustments, V-Mux downloading, chassis prep, box mount, and electrical work.

A combination of "in-class" education and hands on training allowed participants to get an enhanced understanding of the Braun product. They learned how each custom handcrafted ambulance is designed and built. Specifically, they worked on an Express, Liberty, and Super Chief ambulance model. Technicians that attended on behalf of a service learned vital skills to help their organization save time and money by servicing their own fleet.
Overall, we had a lot of fun at this year's Annual Service Instruction Course. We hope all attendees found it educational and look forward to putting their new skills and certification to work. We are excited for next year's session and will post the dates as soon as we have them!
