FDIC, which stands for Fire Department Instructors Conference, is the largest firefighter conference and expo in North America, boasting over 34,000 attendees from all over the world in 2017! This year, it will be held April 23-28 at the Indiana Convention Center & Lucas Oil Stadium. With less than two weeks to go, we're busy with show prep and getting excited for the big event.
FDIC combines conference sessions and exhibitions for attendees. The conference sessions include hands-on trainings, known as H.O.T. Evolutions, as well as classroom sessions and workshops. Classroom sessions offer a wide variety of topics and cover current events and hot topics in the industry, allowing attendees to come away with a wealth of knowledge. These classroom sessions are run by some of the top names in the fire industry and provide a great opportunity for discussion. There are numerous sessions scheduled, covering subjects like first responder mental health and coordinated firefighting.
In addition to classroom sessions, there will be pre-conference workshops on Monday, April 23rd from 8 a.m. until noon. There will also be H.O.T. Evolutions on Monday and Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. There will be various issues covered during the hands-on sessions, including heavy vehicle extrication, basics of tactical care, and working in the fire flow path, which will demonstrate with live fire.
The last three days of FDIC 2018 will feature exhibitions at the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium. There will be over 800 exhibitors in attendance. You can find Braun ambulances and our dealer partners at the Indiana Convention Center in Booth #5747!
