A new location with more space and a 3 day schedule packed with information combined to make this years’ Service Training Class a huge success! We welcomed 42 emergency vehicle service techs from many departments across the nation, as well as several techs from our dealerships.
During the class time, attendees were able to participate in hands-on training and troubleshooting with sessions focused on preventative maintenance, MasterTech IV programming, and E-Z Glide Door servicing. The 30-hour class schedule included the use of customer units for demonstration; Service Techs from each department attending enjoyed “working” on their own ambulances.
In addition to the training provided direct from Braun, we invited 11 vendors to the course for an inside track on specific products. Eight of the vendors returned from last year’s class, and brought with them new, valuable knowledge to the classroom setting.
A tour of the manufacturing was a big highlight of the course. “The tour is a valuable piece to the class, as the Techs are able to see how the module is built from the design stage thru to the Quality Inspection. It helps provide a better understanding of how the electrical harnesses are run, the electrical panels are built, and the overall construction process,” states Jeff Holtzclaw, Braun Industries Service Manager. The entire class also enjoyed the extra space the new Service Facility provided, along with seeing Braun #1, the first unit built by Braun Industries in 1972.
Next year’s class is already in the planning stages. With the larger facility, the class size is sure to grow again and will include a specific focus on electrical training and troubleshooting sessions. Jeff and the Braun Service Team thank everyone for a great course. “…This class is a great networking opportunity for techs to get helpful tips and techniques for maintenance and repairs – faster and easier,” says Holtclaw.
