What’s Happening At Braun Industries

September 17, 2014

Last month marked the end of the “sales year” at Braun Industries, which would traditionally mean the announcement of new model year vehicles. However, this is a unique year at Braun Industries and we are eager to share our plans with you.

We are extending our 2014 model year to the end of the calendar year. The 2015 model year will begin in January 2015. It will include the launch of one of the most significant innovations to the Braun product … the Concealed Hinge (available on select models).

Concealed-Hinge

The Concealed Hinge will be unique to Braun. While other manufacturers have taken the traditional piano hinge and covered it, Braun has partnered with a supplier to completely rethink and redesign it. After the innovation is rolled out, there will not be a hinge anywhere on the exterior of the truck, giving it a sleek finish among other benefits. It is the perfect addition to the already great Anti-Corrosion Package we offer.

“Our Concealed Hinge offers a clean look to the unit, a reduction in debris absorption, a reduction of dissimilar metal contact points, and most significantly, a reduction in the potential for corrosion. This launch will begin only on select models as standard, and on additional models as an option over time. The development of the Concealed Hinge and the engineering redesign of our product line-up is massive. The delayed start of model year 2015 will provide the additional time needed to fully implement this new feature for a smooth transition into the new model year. This is a VERY EXCITING launch for Braun, and we are eager to share it with our customers,” says President of Braun Industries, Kim Braun.

In addition to the extension of MY2014 and our upcoming innovation release, we are also changing things up in our Service Department. In July, we purchased a new facility located across the street from our production plant.  We are taking a phased approach to get the most of our new space, and the first phase included moving over our service and remount operations. This relocation opened up 6,000 square feet in our main facility that will be used to enhance new vehicle production operations. Phase 2 will include the relocation of additional, ancillary/support activities from our main facility to our Service facility. Those departments will include operations such as product development, testing and certifications, and others yet to be determined. Phase 3 will include the growth of additional and complementary product lines, yet to be determined.

Here is what Kim Braun has to say about all of the changes going on - “Growth is hard work...but it is also very exciting to see the positive results of so many efforts! Currently under our 3rd generation of leadership, Braun has every intention of being a 4th generation family-owned business. We are making decisions and investments for the long-term sustainability of our business, and continuing to invest in expanding our production capabilities and improving our products is a significant component of that. We are committed to our dealer network, vendor partners, customers, and end-users… and when we say our emergency vehicles are ‘Built for Life’, we mean it.”
